-On the highway take the Lucca exit which indicates “Garfagnana Abetone”. Once you have reached the walls of Lucca, take the the road around the city walls until you see the sign for the road “SS 12 Abetone”.

-Follow the road for approx 5 Km and the turn right where you see the sign to “Matraia” and “Villa Reale.

-When you arrive at the Villa Reale’s gates bear left and then right, always following the “Matraia” signs.

After approx 4 Km, turn right when you see the sign “Via di Matraia” (next to the sign “Matraia Colle”), and follow “Via di Matraia” for approx 500 m. At the church turn to the left and follow “Via di Vergaia”. Keep to the right (do not go up the hill). You will shortly arrive at “Antico Casale Mugnani” (the only salmon coloured property).
