Antico Casale Mugnani

2013

“Antico Casale Mugnani” has a beautiful setting on the hills of Lucca among olives groves, with a fantastic panorama.

South-facing and extremely sunny it is ideal even for a winter break.

The house dates from the sixteenth century, evidence of the wealth of the silk merchants who had made Lucca famous throughout Europe from 1300 anwards.

The property has seen various changes over the years but recently the owners have worked hard to restore it to its original concept using, for example, the local stone “La pietra di Matraia”.

Nature lovers can go for long walks through woods, vineyards and olive groves. Nearby are old churches, historic villas and farms where you can sample local produce and, perhaps, follow the “Strade del vino”, a route tracking the wine production of the area.

Trips to the mountain areas of the Apuana Alps and Appenines can be made and some fascinating towns are within easy reach – Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Pistoia – all of historic and artistic interest, and the Versilian Beaches.

The main house and a second building have been converted into 5 flats of different sizes, all furnished with style and taste, combining local tradition and every modern comfort.

In the large garden which surrounds the property there is an antique stone basin, a swimming pool with a breathtaking view, a solarium, a barbecue and a play-area for children.

There are sufficient tables, chairs and sunbeds, so that you can always find a sit or eat wherever you choose.

Where nature and peace wait for you to make your holidays a wonderful relax time, far from every days problems...
